As urban agriculture and community gardening become increasingly popular across the globe, it's awesome to get some insight into their benefits, implementation and how they can be made financial viable.
This cool little film from NYC showcases some amazing city farms, and how their produce is utilised by the local community, as well as businesses.
While I sometimes think of the United States as being a consumption hungry beast, it only takes a beautiful little film like this to remind me that the US, and cities like New York in particular, are at the forefront of sustainable movements and community based initiatives - including collaborative consumption and collaborative urbanism.
In order to show how vegetables are grown in New York, we reversed what the plants do: We harvest in spring what we filmed in fall.
